Steve Introduces Tom to Bonefish

I knew showing Steve what San Diego Bay Bonefish Fishing was all about would have an impact on his fishing life. Little did I know that by catching a Bonefish, Steve would also find joy sharing these little drag zingers with others. Showing Tom what Bonefish fishing in San Diego Bay was all about came easy.

I showed him the Ghost Shrimp rig, and how to put the little crustaceans on the hook, and within minutes Tom and Steve had a Bonefish double to brag about. Of course Tom took no time at all to notice that his Bonefish had a little bit more to brag about than Steve's. At a whopping 2.9 pounds, Tom's Bonefish was a prize to the normal 1.5 - 2 pound bonefish San Diego Bay normally kicks out.

The two continued to catch a variety of San Diego Bay dwellers, and Tom even caught a nice Corvina on a fly that he tied using a rod that he wrapped! How awesome is that?

After using all of our Ghost Shrimp up in the first three hours, we spent the rest of our day tossing grubs, flies, and spinner baits; yielding several Croaker, Corvina, and Spotted Bay Bass. Steve caught one Spotty that was huge compared to what I have seen in the shallows for quite awhile.

Although the sky did put a few drops on us, and the sun was very neglectant to show, this day of fishing San Diego Bay was very fun and productive for all, and I know for sure that after catching his first Bonefish, Tom is hooked for sure.
