40 Halibut, 1,225 Spotted Sand Bass (Bay Bass), 88 Barred Sand Bass, 70 Calico Bass, 96 Bonefish, 78 Sculpin & Rock Fish, 6 Sharks and Rays, 18 Croaker and Corvina, 1 Blue Catfish, 21 Largemouth Bass, 120 Critters (lizardfish, jacksmelt, mackerel, etc...)

1,763 total fish caught in the fourth quarter of 2012 from 40 trips. 96% of the fish were released.

Total Q4 Trips: 40, Anglers: 93, Catch Ratio: avg. 44 Fish per Trip, 19 Fish per Angler

News and Events

We booked 40 of the 90 days in the fourth quarter. This allowed for much needed clean-up after the busy summer we had. However, the Fall/Winter bite was awesome! It was a shame that more people did not book trips during this time. In all our years of guiding, we have not seen so many 50-100 fish days. And, we had better numbers of Bonefish caught in the Winter than we did all Summer!

Although we did get on the lake a few times, and offshore for some of the trips, most all of the mass numbers of fish caught were within the protected waters of San Diego Bay. It was an awesome fourth quarter as far as the fish were concerned. I guess that's what made it so special for the few anglers that booked during the three months of October, November and December. What a great end to an awesome year of fishing.
